Sleeping Earplugs
Sleeping Earplugs
Product Description
Product Description
Custom-fit silicone earplugs for the side sleeper, the partner of a snorer, and the person who wakes at every car door and creak of the house. Made from impressions of your own ears so the plug sits flush against the outer ear, with no protrusion to press into the canal when your head meets the pillow.
Why custom fit matters for sleep
Disposable foam and generic silicone work well enough when you are sitting upright. They press into the canal, hold their shape against gravity, and stay where you put them. Lying on your side changes the geometry. The pillow pushes the plug deeper into the ear, the foam compresses unevenly, and the seal that worked while you were standing now creates a pressure point that wakes you up at three in the morning.
A custom-fit sleeping earplug is built around the actual shape of your ear canal and concha, with a low-profile silhouette that sits flush against the outer ear. No protrusion to press against the pillow. No pressure point against the canal. The plug stays comfortable for a full night.
What they block
These are passive earplugs, which means they block sound across a broad frequency range without amplification or filtering. They handle the kinds of noise most likely to wake you up: a partner's snoring, traffic and car doors outside the window, ceiling fans and HVAC cycling on, camp generators humming through the night, hotel hallway noise, the next room's television, the cabin neighbor heading out before dawn.
They will not block an alarm clock at full volume on the nightstand. Most people who use them still hear a vibrating phone, a child crying, or a smoke detector going off.
Fit and materials
The plugs are made from medical-grade soft silicone, soft enough to conform to the pillow without resistance, durable enough to survive years of nightly use. Each pair is manufactured from impressions taken in person by a licensed hearing care provider in our Preferred Provider Network. The impressions capture the canal shape, the bends and ridges of the concha, and the canal angle as it enters the ear. The finished plugs seat once and stay.
Who they are for
Side sleepers, especially those who favor one side. Light sleepers. Partners of snorers. Hunting camps with shared sleeping quarters. Frequent travelers in hotels. Shift workers sleeping during daytime hours. Anyone who has cycled through foam and over-the-counter silicone and thrown both away by the second night.
How to order
Sleeping earplugs require an in-person ear impression appointment. OtoPro's Preferred Provider Network of licensed hearing care providers spans many cities across the US, Canada, UK, and Australia. If you have OtoPro impressions on file, the lab can use those. If you have current Starkey or SoundGear custom products, the fit profile is in the manufacturing system and can be reused.
Available as a pair or as a single ear, in eighteen color options. Manufactured and shipped within four weeks of the impression appointment.

We do not accept mail-in or self-sourced impressions.
Will these block enough noise for me to sleep?
Will these block enough noise for me to sleep?
For most people in most sleep environments, yes. These are passive solid earplugs designed to attenuate continuous and intermittent ambient noise across a broad frequency range: snoring, traffic, ceiling fans, HVAC cycles, hotel hallway sound, generator hum. They are not designed to block at the level of industrial hearing protection or to suppress sudden very loud impulses, and they will not block a high-volume alarm clock on the nightstand. The advantage of the custom fit is consistent acoustic seal across an entire night, not maximum attenuation.
Will I still hear my alarm or a child crying?
Will I still hear my alarm or a child crying?
Most wearers report hearing alarms, phones vibrating on a nightstand, children crying, and smoke detectors. The plugs reduce ambient noise but do not eliminate sharp or intermittent high-volume sounds. If hearing a specific alarm or wake-up source is essential, test the plugs against that sound on your first night and adjust placement or alarm volume as needed.
